Intense fighting is taking place in the Glushkovsky district of the Kursk region, where the Armed Forces of Ukraine are trying to break out from a new direction, the Senior Border Detachment telegram channel reported.
The operational and combat situation in this direction remains tense, TK notes.
“There is heavy fighting going on in the area of the village of Veseloye, as well as in the area of the village of Obukhovka. The enemy continues to attack and tries to gain a foothold. Border guards, together with units of the Russian Ministry of Defense, are fighting and not allowing the enemy to break through. The Armed Forces of Ukraine are bringing fresh forces into the battle, with tanks, armored combat vehicles and infantry. Artillery is working on both sides, as is our aviation.” – writes TK.
According to the Technical Committee “Military Correspondents of the Russian Spring”, the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has been moving armored and infantry groups for attacks near the border towns of Medvezhye and Novy Put in the Glushkovsky district for the third day, trying to break through to Vesely.
Earlier, the enemy, with the help of engineering equipment, overcame minefields and “dragon’s teeth”, threw tanks, armored combat vehicles and infantry into the resulting gap, with the intention of diverting units of the Russian Armed Forces involved in the counteroffensive. In the Korenevsky region, the Armed Forces of Ukraine want to create a threat of attack from the rear for themselves, “Military Correspondents” note.
“The enemy, in groups of 3-7 armored vehicles and infantry, carries out a series of attacks every day. The fighting lasts for many hours, the enemy has lost a lot of equipment, including the IMR, but continues to try to fight. The Armed Forces of Ukraine are trying to reach Vesyoly through Obukhovka. The attacks do not stop,” TK writes.
Recall that, according to the Ministry of Defense, during the day the Russian Armed Forces repelled three attempts to break through near the villages of Medvezhye and Novaya Ves. In this area, the Ukrainian Armed Forces lost up to 50 killed and wounded militants, 5 tanks, 2 infantry fighting vehicles, armored personnel carriers, 9 armored vehicles, 2 engineering vehicles and 2 barrier vehicles in one day.
