The Coordinator of the Peñas of Valladolid and the Federation of Peñas of Valladolid (Fevapeñas) have organized themselves around a hundred activities for all audiences for the Fair and the Festivities of the Virgin of San Lorenzo with consolidated events such as the inaugural parade, the imposition of the handkerchief on Count Ansúrez, the 11th edition of the Conciertazo or the Guinness record.
This is a program that was presented this Wednesday by the city’s tourism, events and brand advisor, Blanca Jiménez, in collaboration with the two associations, with the help of a series of projects that aim to allow residents to enjoy the atmosphere of their city and so that all visitors can be infected by the festive spirit that floods the streets on these days.
First, the Peñas coordinator will begin his programming August 30 with its traditional gathering and parade of supporters that will reach the Plaza Mayorwhere, for the first time, before the proclamation begins, the imposition of the handkerchief on Count Ansúrez will take place, which this year will be carried out by the former mayor of the municipality of Valladolid, Alberto Gutiérrez.
Moreover, at the same time The screens on the stage of the Plaza Mayor will project a small tribute to the photographer Gabriel Villamil and his 30-year professional career, who recently passed away.. Another of the novelties presented this year will take place on Saturday, September 1st, at 7:00 p.m., on the central promenade of Campo Grande, with “Pucela ¿qué canta?”, a cover of the great artists of music.
On September 1st, some of the main dishes that the association has prepared will take place, among which: The VIIth Cyclotouristic March or the exhibition of classic vehicles on the sidewalk of Recoletos. At 9:15 p.m., Gabriel Villamil will be recognized along with his appointment as “Honorary Peñista” in 2024.
From 9:25 p.m. it will take place on the sidewalk of Recoletos an act of homage to the memory of the great artist from Valladolid Concha Velascowhich will begin with a poem recited by Atilano Ingelmo and will continue with the organization of the “Guinness Record Valladolid 2024”, which will bring together the largest number of people wearing top hats in homage to the artist and, more specifically, to her musical ‘Mamá Quiero sois une artiste’.
The program is completed by Masterclass, inflatable structures for the little ones, musical proposals, games and club activities. In addition, from August 30 to September 8, the third edition of the “Moreras Peñas Festival” will take place.
VALLISOLETANA FEDERATION OF PEÑAS
Fevapeñas will kick off the Fair and Festivities of the Virgin of San Lorenzo 2024 with its concentration of clubs and parade with fanfares on Friday August 30. Gastronomic events, inflatable games and children’s shows or “Operation Can” are some of the proposals that the association has organized so that all fans and neighbors can enjoy the city’s festivities.
He Saturday 31st, from 10pm, the Fevapeñas VII edition will take placein Marqués del Duero Street, and on Friday 6th they will celebrate Peñas Day with a concert for the XXX Anniversary of the Peña Pucelana Velardes.
He Saturday 7th, the 11th Meeting of Classic Motorcycles and Mopedsthen a route through the center of Valladolid. In addition, at 9 p.m. the 11th edition of the Fevapeñas Concert will take place, one of the most anticipated moments of the association.
