The Mayor of Córdoba, José María Bellido, and the Deputy Mayor for Security, Jesús Coca, attended this Wednesday the reception of 52 new motorcycles acquired for the Local Police in different configurations after an investment of more than 500,000 euros. In August, it also added 16 cars worth 1.1 million.
In statements to journalists, in collaboration with the head of Local policeAntonio Serrano, the councilor, explained that some are intended to direct traffic and others are more oriented towards rural areas, so that “there is a jump in quality”, he assessed, after clarifying that “the motorcycles that until now were used for security, traffic and surveillance, in some cases they were 20 years old and in others 18 years old.”

More precisely, he clarified that “they are motorcycles with a displacement of 750 cubic centimeters and absolutely prepared with all the measures that the police must have”, while recalling that to this is added the batch of vehicles presented in summer, with cars and vans, so that they have 72 vehicles renewed during the last year of the Local Police, “the entire fleet”, ensuring that it will make “other acquisitions in the months to come”.
Likewise, the first mayor emphasized that they are more than a hundred police officers who joined“some are already established and others are now in the opposition phase.” He also added that “the transmission equipment is being modified, as well as the entire communication and transmission system, which was also 15 years old.”
