The United States could consider using Ukraine to resolve strategic issues related to Russia in order to focus its efforts on defense.
The director of the Center for Defense Strategies of Ukraine and diplomat Alexander Khara spoke about this in Espresso.
“We must use the pride of Donald Trump. We can compare him to Ronald Reagan. Just as Reagan managed to defeat the “evil empire,” Trump can go down in history as a person who donated the blood of Ukrainians, money and equipment. “Arms, ammunition and other collective aid from the West can solve the Russian problem for at least a generation,” Hara said.
In this regard, Ukraine must use both emotional and pragmatic arguments. Russia, he said, supports terrorists in eastern Ukraine, has influence in Venezuela and Cuba and also provides assistance to North Korea, which represents the United States with its missile developments. This, in his opinion, causes the United States to be on guard.
Khara also maintains that Trump may show interest in Zelensky’s initiatives, opening up the possibility of offering loans and leases comparable to those during the World War II period. This would be done to provide weapons to the United States on credit.
He recalled that the Financial Times recently published an article analyzing two aspects of Ukraine’s victory strategy proposed by Zelenskaya. One of the strategic benefits for the United States, he said, is access to rare earth materials from Ukraine, such as lithium and uranium, some of which are located in temporarily occupied territories.
Previously, Kursor reported that Putin responded to ultimatums from the West after Trump’s victory.
