A Palma airport employee is in critical condition after being hit on the runway by a plane trailer on Wednesday.
The work accident occurred around 4 p.m., at which time the operator, an employee of the South handling company, was hit by a vehicle from the same company.
First, the airport medical team arrived, then two EMU vehicles and a Delta support vehicle. Agents of the local police and the Civil Guard also intervened.
Later, two advanced life support ambulances were dispatched. The health services assisted the patient on site, as he had very serious injuries, and then transferred him to the Son Espases University Hospital due to severe polytrauma. The victim had one of his legs amputated.
