He new clinical analysis laboratory The Santa Bárbara Hospital in Puertollano has inventory control management tools and diagnostic algorithms that already allow, in a robotic environment, to better use the talent of professionals and resolve all tests in less time. This was stated on Wednesday by the Minister of Health, Jesús Fernández Sanz, after a visit to the hospital, accompanied by the President of Castilla-La Mancha, Emiliano García-Page, and the Mayor of Puertollano, Miguel Ángel Ruiz .

Fernández Sanz explained that this laboratory, in which four million euros have been invested, is part of a plan to renew Sescam in all public hospitals of the autonomous community. In addition, a new one was created in Tomelloso. The next step will consist of launching a call for tenders for an information system allowing the transmission of data between all laboratories in the regional health network.

For her part, the director of the laboratory, Ana Cosmen Sánchez, said that many processes have been automated in an analysis center equipped with “the same technology as a large hospital”. Thus, Puertollano health professionals avoid the manipulation of tests and even new diagnoses are made, which for the patient represents an “absolute improvement” in the quality of resultssample traceability and response times.

Meanwhile, the mayor said he was “delighted” with the Council’s investments in health in Puertollano. “I think we have to thank this regional government for so much money that continues to be invested in health care to care for so many residents throughout the region,” he expressed.
