During the first few days, the schedule of Friedrich Merets is already well filled as a chancellor: the day after his election, he flies to Paris in Emmanuel Macron, then we go to Donald Tuska in Warsaw. This corresponds to the foreign policy that Mertz wants to establish. But even before taking office, annoying household chores put him, first of all, the question: how do you save him with AFD?
After the constitutional defense classified the party as proven last Friday, the extremist on the right is again discussed when working with it. Before the elections in the Bundestag, 124 politicians applied for the cross -effect to initiate the prohibition against the party. At the same time, AFD with 152 MPS is the second strong force in Bundestag and Opposition Leader. A clear political strategy against extremists on the right side is absent. To ban, exclude or even integrate – especially in the CDU Merz ‘, bewilderment is great.
More recently, the CDU Jens Spahn policy advertised for the treatment of AFD in parliamentary procedures and processes, like any other opposition party. ” This will mean that AFD deputies also head meetings in the committees. The proposal faced indignation, especially outside the union.
It is expected that Spahn will be elected to his new chairman by the trade union faction on Monday and, thus, the successor of the Mercke in parliament. He has already done something back to X: “There will be no recommendations to choose AFD deputies for the chairman of the committee.”
Also CDuler is among supporters of the ban
Supporters: Inside the ban, even in the Union, is already louder and more numerous. Already in the election campaign, he advocated a ban on AFR, said a 41-year-old deputy from TAZ. “Especially with new facts, I see a complete set of tools to combat these constitutional enemies as my mission.” The prohibition procedure is certainly the most difficult and complex. “But we must accompany this,” says Van Bick.

Tilman Kuban now also includes those who join the requirement of the prohibition procedure in the trade union faction. The lawyer writes in a guest post for the world: AFD “is clearly used by right extremist structures.” If the classification is also confirmed in court, “then the prohibition is necessary.”
The classification is not yet final. The federal party may probably still complain. In the same way as in 2021 against the classification as suspicions from the right side, which was confirmed in 2024 by the Higher Administrative Court in Munster.

AFD can initially strain the urgent procedure against the classification. This can take several years to be legal force. But then this may be inconvenient for party members, for example, when hiring for the public service, since the commandment of constitutional fidelity is applied here.
