It is not the first time and it will not be the last. The case of Murcia, in which the prosecution and the defense reached an agreement so that the seven accused of having sexual relations with girls between 13 and 16 years old through a prostitution network, would not be imprisoned because their sentences were reduced, is one of the many conformisms that turn their backs on the survivors of sexist violence, sexual violence. While sexual crimes increase by 14.8% and four out of ten victims are minors, conformity agreements, not only in cases of sexual violence but also in cases of gender violence within the partner or ex-spouse, are the order of the day. The victim is not important, the accused only has to recognize the facts in the manner of the king emeritus.
This also happened in the case of Murcia, it was enough to recognize the facts, or rather it was enough to say “yes” to the question: do you recognize the facts attributed to you? Ten years after the commission of the events, the delay in holding the trial and the judicial uproar serve as an excuse, and what is worse is that they mitigate to such an extent the punishment of those responsible, both the businessmen who asked the girls to have sex as the women who ran the prostitution network, the taxi drivers who took them and the hotelier who rented the rooms, which makes the punishment disappear, leading them to go unpunished.
