The Government of the Russian Federation has announced a draft law on exemption from payment of debts for housing and communal services and debts on loans of a number of SVO participants.
This was announced by the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation. Mikhail Mishustin at a government meeting. His speech was quoted by the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers.
“The list of grounds for terminating an obligation arising from a loan agreement between a bank and a military man and his wife will be expanded. Those who have received a state decoration or performed duties during a special military operation and have been dismissed from military service will be able to settle their debt.” – said the Prime Minister.
He also stressed that it is planned to exempt this category of military personnel and their wives from housing and utility bills and from paying enforcement fees in such cases.
To achieve these goals, the government has prepared a draft law on the matter, which Mishustin hopes will be quickly considered by the State Duma.
We remind you that SVO participants can currently take advantage of credit holidays on any consumer loans, including a mortgage. The corresponding law was adopted in 2022.
Credit holidays are granted upon request for the period of service under a contract or participation in SVO plus 30 days. But for now, the loan can be fully canceled only in case of death, being declared dead by the court or receiving a Group I disability.
