Plácido Domingo, in front of the Virgin of Sorrows of Cordoba

Many voices have sung, literally and truly, at Our Lady of Doloresbut the one who did it this Friday is exceptional. It’s a question of tenor Placido Domingo (Madrid, 1941), one of the most admired singers on the world stage for decades.

The tenor visited the sanctuary where Lady of Cordoba for the marriage of a family member, as the brotherhood explained, who deserved a visit. Thus, Plácido Domingo rose to the rank dressing of Our Lady of Sorrows, to be close to the image.

Previously, and as confirmed by the brotherhood, he had intoned a singing in front of the venerated image, to the great emotion of the audience, who were able to see that the passage of time had not affected a voice that has drawn applause on stages around the world.

He also knew the neighborhoods of the brotherhood, always guided by the elder brother, José María Herrero Fernández de Córdova, and the heritage that society has gathered over the centuries.
