National Police officers arrested in Gandía (Valencia) a man and a woman, aged 31 and 30, of Italian origin, as alleged perpetrators of a crime of theft after negligently stealing a white gold ring valued at nearly 3,000 euros.
While they were handling some gold rings to try them on, they took the opportunity to grab the most expensive one on the tray. Finally, the stolen ring was recovered after being found by the officers among the alleged attacker’s belongings.
The investigation began on September 6 following a complaint filed by the owner of a Gandia Jewelry in which he reported that two people had entered his premises to claim several gold rings. After showing them the tray of rings they were trying on, they left the jewelry store empty-handed and the complainant realized the next day that a white gold and diamond ring worth nearly 3,000 euros was missing.
Immediately, the first investigations of the Investigation Group allowed to corroborate the facts, being able to identify after a few minutes a man and a woman as allegedly responsible for the reckless theft, verifying that the man was in the dungeons from the police premises of Gandía, awaiting transfer to the penitentiary centre due to an international judicial complaint, this crime being also attributed to him.
Later, a woman came to the police station, showing interest in the detainee and, after identifying her, she was able to discover that she was the same person who accompanied this man when he committed the theft of the ring. also arrested.
During the security search, officers located among the man’s belongings the gold ring he had stolen the day before, which was returned to the owner of the jewelry store.
The woman, who has no criminal record, was arrested after giving her statement. releasebut not before being warned of the obligation to appear before the judicial authority when requested to do so, while the man was transferred to the penitentiary centre due to the judicial complaint.
