The investigation into the beating and sexual abuse of a 2-year-old girl in the Malkara district of Turkey’s Tekirdag province continues.

The mother took her 2-year-old daughter Silany, who had bruises on her body, to the hospital three days after the incident. The doctor who examined Sila saw bruises on the baby’s genital area and reported the situation to the police, after which investigations were launched.
The baby, who was transferred to another hospital and underwent brain surgery on suspicion of a brain hemorrhage, was admitted to the intensive care unit and is said to be in a stable but serious condition.
Mother BY, who was arrested as part of the investigation, revealed horrific facts in her statement to the prosecutor’s office.
According to him, his neighbours invited them to dinner. The woman said she left her daughter next door and returned home and picked her up in the evening. When she bathed the child, she saw blood stains on the diaper and realised that her daughter had been raped. However, she hid the suffering so that no one would find out.
Five people were arrested in connection with the incident, including the baby’s mother and the neighbour’s children. The mother’s other daughter, aged 5, was placed under state protection.
