An Armenian scholar announced historical facts: “The Armenians had no plans to establish a state in the Caucasus”

“We must also be scientifically active and respond to the policy of provocation pursued by Armenia against Azerbaijan in recent years.”

This Oku.Azin his statement to the head of the Armenian Studies Department at Erciyes University in Turkey, director of the Armenian-Azerbaijani Research Center Gafar Cajmakli saying.

According to him, these responses should be prepared in a fundamental way, not only according to what Armenians write or say:

“For this, it is necessary to know the Armenian language. Because it is very difficult to address these issues without knowing the Armenian language. Therefore, I think that the number of experts learning the Armenian language should increase in Azerbaijan and Turkey.”

“We are specifically engaged in this work in Turkey. The Armenian language is also taught in some universities in Azerbaijan. However, I think that it should be in the form of a department. Admission to other faculties should be the same, so that students study the Armenian language as the main one. In addition, the history of Armenia should be studied because we have very serious sources in Armenian. How can these sources be used for a certain historical period? From the 19th century to today There are many facts in our favor. For example, Ruben Ter Minasyan, who was the Minister of Defense and Internal Affairs of Armenia in 1920, wrote that the Armenians did not have a plan to establish a state in the Caucasus. Since they did not consider this territory to belong to the Armenians, the political institutions wanted to establish an Armenian state in Eastern Anatolia, not in the Caucasus. We must reveal these facts so that we can prove to ourselves that the rights of Armenians to this region are unfounded,” our interviewer stressed.

He said that the Armenians created a state artificially: “That is why the Armenians themselves considered this state to be temporary. They did not even fight to keep alive the declared state on 9,000 square kilometers. In the Batumi agreement of 1918, the territory of Armenia was 9,000 square kilometers, now this number has increased to 29.8 thousand square kilometers. This once again proves that the Armenians are Azerbaijani lands, so we must refer to these sources.”

G. Chakhmagli added that in the context of all this, the idea of Western Azerbaijan is attractive: “That is why it is necessary to keep this idea alive. It is true that in the current conditions the territories of Armenia are a state recognized by international law. But tomorrow there may be such a situation that we make the world’s historic mistake and we will not repeat it again.”
