Russia has returned 103 soldiers who were captured by the Ukrainian army in the Kursk region as a result of negotiations mediated by the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Oku.AzAccording to reports, the Russian Ministry of Defense (MoD) has released information on this matter.
“On September 14 this year, as a result of the negotiation process, 103 Russian soldiers who were captured in the Kursk region from the territory under the control of the Kiev regime were returned. In their place, 103 prisoners of war of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were handed over,” the ministry said.
Russia’s Defense Ministry said the United Arab Emirates played a humanitarian mediation role in the return of Russian servicemen from captivity.
“Currently, all Russian servicemen are on the territory of Belarus, receiving necessary psychological and medical assistance and have been given the opportunity to contact their families. All released servicemen will be taken to Russia and undergo treatment and rehabilitation at medical facilities of the Russian Ministry of Defense,” the ministry said.
