The firefighters of the Community of Madrid and the Special Group for Rescue at Height intervened
The firefighters of the Community of Madrid and the Special High Altitude Rescue Group (GERA) rescued this Saturday around forty people trapped in the mechanical chairlift of the ski resort of the Xanadú shopping center, in Arroyomolinos.
As reported by a spokesman for Madrid 112 Urgences, this Saturday morning they had to rescue these people, mostly children, for three hours. The trapped people were on ten chairlifts in the upper part of the establishment when they stopped.
All rescued persons were assessed by Summa. They showed symptoms of mild hypothermia and were released on scene.
