Marc Márquez, before his last race with Gresini: “With them I am reborn…”

HAS Marc Marquez He has very little left to get on the official Ducati. This weekend, at Barcelona Grand Prixwill take part in his last test with Gresini. And he is very grateful to the team because with them he was able “reborn” in MotoGP and feeling competitive again after numerous injury problems.

“Better to finish third than fourth but, above all, what I want is to have a good weekend, the best possible, to thanks to the Gresini team for everything they gave me, because I am reborn with them and, in just one year, it has become a great team for me,” he told the media this Thursday before the Grand Prix, which can be followed in its entirety in laSexta.

He opted for a satellite, that of Ducati, so that the “environment” could be found: “Obviously, this year my main objective, I said it a thousand times, when I bet on this project was find the right environment in a team to rediscover myself. And what does this mean? Patience, take the steps little by little and get realistic results, not optimistic, but realistic… and we achieved it.

“We set ourselves goals, we achieved them. And in just one year, Gresini became a very important team in my sporting career“, declares the eight-time motorcycle world champion.

Of course, he hopes that a situation like this with injuries will not happen again: “It’s a year that I had not experienced in my sporting career and I hope not to encounter it again, but it could arrive.”

“I had a lot of questions in mind and it was a year of searching for answers. I found them in a positive way because the main question was: ‘Am I still competitive to be in MotoGP’? It was a yes , logically. It will be impossible to be dominant like in 2019. Because life happens to all of us who are here and those who are yet to come. But we will try to keep this line as flat as possible to maintain a high level in MotoGP and remain competitive,” says the Cervera rider.
