Mother of a martyr: “There was a girl who wanted to, we were going to send messengers”

Baku TV prepared a report about Farhad Babayev, a martyr of the Patriotic War.

Farhad Maharram oglu Babayev, a soldier of the Azerbaijani Army, was martyred on October 24, 2020 in the battles for the liberation of Gubadli.

After his death, he was awarded the medals “For the Fatherland” and “For the Liberation of Khojavend”.

Samaya Babayeva, the mother of the martyr, said that the martyrdom of Major General Polad Hashimov had a great impact on her son:

“Farhad Polad took part in Hashimov’s funeral. When he came home, he said: ‘Mother, martyrdom is a very high peak.’ At that moment, I saw many changes in my son. He was so affected that after the funeral, he signed up for voluntary military service.”

Samaya Babayeva spoke about the day Farhad was martyred.

“When I called him on October 23, he said, ‘Mother, grant me halal.’ I said, ‘Let me be a sacrifice for you, everything is halal for you.’ The next morning, when I was praying, I couldn’t. I couldn’t put my words together. My grandson came and said, ‘Grandma, something they say about martyrs.’ I thought I had been struck by lightning. At that moment I wanted to throw myself off the balcony. I was injured. I was taken to the hospital by helicopter. “I was lost, I didn’t know what to do.”

Martyr’s mother said that Farhad’s father wanted his son to be buried in Siyazan district:

“I begged my husband to bury Farhad in Martyrs’ Alley, because I have to visit his grave frequently. He said he would bury him next to my father’s grave in Siyazan and we would go there every week. For four years, every sixth day of the week or day off, we were with him every day.”

S. Babayeva said that she is always proud of her son:

“He was respected at work, on the street, everywhere. I was proud of my son because he found his own path. After Farhad’s martyrdom, I feel that he supported me in all my difficult moments.”
