Marine Le Pen, leader of the parliamentary faction of the National Union, France’s main opposition party, believes the country’s new government will function for about 10 months, after which new extraordinary parliamentary elections are expected.
Oku.Az reports that he reported on this at the party seminar which he posted on “X” (formerly “Twitter”).
“There are 10 months left and I believe that after those 10 months new parliamentary elections will be held in spring or autumn. Let’s hope that this mandate will be as short as possible,” the politician wrote.
Le Pen has again criticised French President Emmanuel Macron’s decision to appoint Michel Barnier, the Republican Party’s representative, as the new prime minister, pointing out that the party received fewer votes than the National Union.
