“COP29 was very well organized. I thank the government of Azerbaijan and the United Nations for this.”
This Oku.Az-Samir Fadda, general manager of the regional transportation segment for Asia, the Middle East and Africa, said in an interview.
“We produce electric buses, energy accumulators. We also deal in solar energy. We also produce batteries. We call this ecosystem cleaning. Our head office is in India, but we operate in about 25 countries around the world,” he said the general director. .
– What is your expectation from COP29?
– My expectation is always to further reduce each country’s carbon emissions in the future. I hope we always get a positive result and go in the right direction. But you can’t stop. Yesterday I came to Baku. It is a very modern city, I liked it.
– How is India fighting in this direction?
-I actually live in the United Arab Emirates, in Dubai. But as I mentioned, our head office is in India. India faces many challenges related to carbon emissions. But the government is doing a lot in this direction. To this end, the Indian government is considering replacing all buses that run on diesel and gas with electric buses. They plan to have about 50,000 electric buses in operation over the next two years. This is a great result. Of course, this also applies to the railway. The United Arab Emirates is also doing a lot in this regard. There has been a major shift towards electrification.
– Are you as CEO of your company thinking about negotiating with Azerbaijani companies or the government about electric buses?
– Yes of course. I understand that the government will call a tender for electric buses here. We are talking about about 3,000 electric buses. We are interested in being part of it. Because our company is the second largest bus manufacturer in the world. We are also interested in supporting the government here to go in the right direction.
