During the wedding in Türkiye, the money raised for the bride and groom was counted in four hours

A tribal wedding took place in the Turkish province of Van. Omer Işık, the son of Shehmuz Işık, the head of the Gevdan wing of the tribe, got married.

The wedding was attended by about 6,000 people from inside and outside the country. At the wedding ceremony, which was attended by tribal leaders, NGO leaders, businessmen and numerous guests, the bride received 2 kilograms of gold and the groom jewelry worth 15 million Turkish liras (25.5 million manats).

According to reports, around 20 people managed to count the money and jewellery given to the bride and groom in four hours at the wedding where two tonnes of meat dishes were distributed.

The money raised was transported in suitcases and hundreds of people danced halay.

The groom’s father, Shehmuz Işık, said that money is not important, but unity and equality are.
