Renewed appeal for labor inspection

The recovery is remarkable. After losing 16% of its workforce between 2015 and 2021, the labor inspection has become a bit crowded. It currently has 1,867 control agents, compared to 1,758 at the end of 2023 and just over 1,700 in December 2022. The number of candidates for the competition increased and 418 recruitment officers were recruited in 2023-2024, which was welcome for a service where there is a significant proportion of people approaching the end of their careers.

A “recent increase” in incidents

Ramain also returned to the issue of the safety of screening officers, which Labor Minister Astrid Panosyan-Bouvet had raised a week earlier during a hearing in the National Assembly. “Since my appointmentshe said, It is a fact that caught my attention: not a week went by without labor inspectors being physically and verbally attacked during their inspections. With a form of accommodation, it must be said, and a tolerance in public opinion that is absolutely unacceptable. »
