Military service is restored in Serbia – Oxu.az

Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić has signed the initiative of the Ministry of Defence on the restoration of military service in the republic for 75 days.

“I would like to inform you that I, as President of the Republic, have signed an agreement to perform regular military service for 75 days. Our army must become stronger and stronger. We have no intention of attacking anyone, but we must stop all those who threaten us every day,” said the Head of State.

Serbian Prime Minister Milos Vučević announced that the Serbian government plans to submit the law on the restoration of compulsory military service to the National Assembly (unicameral parliament) for approval in 2025. The head of the Cabinet of Ministers stressed that the need to apply this practice “is not determined by preparation for conflicts and wars, but by the defence of the country and the prevention of possible attacks.”
