By order of Begoña Gómez, Cristina Alvareza senior government official, urged the company’s director of communications and corporate reputation Real Insurance to continue financing the chair that Pedro Sánchez’s wife held at the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM).
This is stated in several emails to which EL ESPAÑOL had access. Álvarez is program director of the General Secretariat of the Presidency.
In one of these emailsdated February 8, 2024, this senior Moncloa official addresses the board of directors of the insurance company. He does this on behalf of Pedro Sánchez’s wife, as he explains, and informs her of various news regarding the chair.
“Begoña tells me to transfer you who would like you to continue to be patrons of the Chair, even if it is with a smaller amount. Ready to collaborate with you on whatever you need,” he says.
This email is sent from Álvarez’s personal account, an @gmail.com address. However, EL ESPAÑOL had access to another e-mail that the director of programs of the presidency sends from an official domain, since it includes government letterhead and a logo of the Palace of Moncloa.
