The Lithuanian government led by Ingrid Šimonite has resigned
Oku.Az reports that the president’s press service published information in this regard.
This procedure is provided for by law. After parliamentary elections held in October, the republic’s newly elected parliament began functioning on November 14. Subsequently, the Cabinet of Ministers resigns and a new government is formed.
According to the information, the president ordered the current government to continue carrying out its functions until the new Cabinet of Ministers is formed.
The Social Democratic Party of Lithuania, which won the elections, nominated Gintautas Palutska for this position.
