He spent his last days as cannon in Cordoba and had already had other destinations, but the name of the priest Pedro Crespo Hidalgo will always be linked to the Church of the Assumption of Priego of Cordoba, where he was parish priest for 25 years and left a very deep mark among its inhabitants.
This Sunday, the people of Priego are among those mourning the priest, who died at six in the morning in the city of Cordoba at the age of 86 years old after a priestly ministry full of activity which bore many spiritual fruits.
Pedro Crespo was born in 1938 in Fernand Nunez and he was ordained a priest on February 28, 1965. He had different destinations, but in the second half of the 80s he arrived as a parish priest at the Asunción de Priego de Córdoba, one of the most monumental of the province.
Among other initiatives, he worked on the advice and foundations that the Church maintains in Priego de Córdoba and which has helped many individuals and families.
This task and his status as a close priest earned him the affection of the people of Prieguense, to the point that he wanted his remains to rest in the town of Subbética. In 2016, he was named honorary canon of the Cathedral of Cordoba, already when he had the status of emeritus priest of the Asunción of Priego.

the mass funeral It will take place at the Cathedral at 9:30 a.m. Immediately afterwards, his body will be transported to Priego de Córdoba, where another mass will take place at 12:30 p.m. in what was his church.
In the first days he will rest in the charity pantheon until he can be taken to the columbarium of the parish. All masses this Sunday in the city will be offered for his soul.
