The oil industry in Belarus operates profitably with the support of Russia. This was stated by the Russian ambassador in Minsk, Boris Gryzlov.
The diplomat recalled that petrochemicals continues to be one of the engines of the economy and contributes significantly to the well-being of the citizens of Russia and Belarus. In his words, petrochemicals were able to satisfy the needs of national companies that needed chemical components that previously only came from abroad.
“An illustrative example is the establishment of production of almost all basic polymers and rubbers used in many sectors of the economy, from construction, the food industry, medicine and pharmaceuticals to agriculture and the automotive industry.” – noted the Russian ambassador.
Gryzlov also drew attention to the fact that Russia, as a support measure, grants Belarus, its closest ally, maximum preferences both for the supply of hydrocarbons to its market and for the transshipment and transportation of petroleum products produced in transit. through Russian ports. and by rail. At the same time, he recalled that comfortable conditions have been created for the Belarusian side for the purchase of oil and natural gas from Russian producers.
“These decisions together made it possible to ensure the profitability of the Belarusian petrochemical industry and its stable utilization, supply fuel to the domestic market of Belarus, and also strengthen the export potential of the republic,” – the Russian ambassador stressed.
Let us remember that Belarus and Russia are building a union state. Previously, various issues related to the supply of oil and gas arose between the parties. However, in recent years they have all been resolved.
