Four days ago, Venezuela linked the detained Spaniards to smuggling, which it now links to the CNI.

Four days ago, intelligence from the Nicolas Maduro regime linked the two detained Spaniards to smuggling, which the Venezuelan government now associates with the Spanish CNI and an alleged operation aimed at “destabilizing” the Latin American country. Last Thursday, Colombian television Indira Live was authorized to give official information about these arrests, which occurred in the border area between Colombia and Venezuela, and in this the channel, based on information verified with the “intelligence agencies of Puerto Ayacucho”, indicated a habitual smuggling in the city from where they came, the municipality of Atabapo, as a “trigger” to be subjected to further interrogations and then transferred to Caracas, where they are arrested.

Colombian TV presenter Indira Live -which even showed an image of the Spaniards’ passports- read a note prepared by the Air Base of General in Chief José Antonio Páez (BAPAEZ), located in Puerto Ayacucho, in the state of Amazonas, on the arrest of José María Basoa and Andrés Martínez Adasme Valdovinos, stating that both “were on board a silver-gray Mitsubishi Lancer vehicle and were in a restricted military zone.”

When they were intercepted, the journalist continues reading the note from the aforementioned Venezuelan military base, “they claimed to be in the municipality of Atabapo, which was the trigger for their transfer to another security service, the DGIM, to conclude the respective interviews and those of the DGIM were later transferred to the state of Bolívar and again to the city of Caracas, where they are currently,” he said last Thursday.

“We already know what foreign citizens are doing in the Venezuelan municipality of Atabapo, that everything is mixed with smuggling, illegal mining…”, the presenter of Indira Live, based on data provided by sources from the Maduro regime’s intelligence services. In addition, the Spaniards did not have a Venezuelan guide, as is customary when entering Venezuela through this border with Colombia, the journalist points out. This place is known for its intense drug trafficking activity.

Furthermore, the Spanish government has denied and “categorically” rejected any suggestion that Spain is involved in a political destabilization operation in Venezuela and has stated that the two Spaniards detained by Venezuela are not part of the CNI or any other state organization.

“Spain denies and categorically rejects any suggestion of involvement in an operation of political destabilization in Venezuela,” said official sources from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

This statement by the Foreign Ministry came in recent hours after Venezuela’s Interior Minister, Diosdado Cabello, appeared publicly this Saturday to report the arrest of José María Basoa Valdovinos and Andrés Martínez Adasme for allegedly having “links” with the National Intelligence Center (CNI) and with figures close to the Venezuelan opposition who are preparing a plan to attack the country’s president, Nicolás Maduro.

According to Diosdado Cabello, this Saturday Venezuela arrested a total of 14 people who were participating in a “destabilization operation” linked to Venezuelan opponent María Corina Machado, stressed the Maduro collaborator, who also highlighted an alleged involvement of the CIA Three. US citizens were also arrested.

For its part, the PP indicated on Sunday that all the data it has on the two detained Spaniards was obtained through the media, thus criticizing the government of Pedro Sánchez for not having informed it directly as the main opposition party.

“What we are experiencing with Venezuela shows that the PSOE, the government of Sánchez, has better relations with the Maduro regime than with the PP of Alberto Núñez Feijóo. We have learned of the arrest of two Spanish citizens in Venezuela and the only thing we know as the main opposition party is what we know from the media,” said the deputy secretary for mobilization and digital challenge of the PP, Noelia Núñez. in Fuenlabrada (Madrid) after meeting with a group of young people before the start of the school year.

The PP leader stressed that her party knows “what Nicolás Maduro is, a dictator, and Venezuela, a dictatorship,” and compared this position of the PP with that of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, José Manuel Albares, and that of the government, which refuses to qualify the Chavista regime as such.

“It seems that this is not a problem that needs to be reported or explained. We say it loud and clear. Venezuela is a dictatorship. Edmundo González, as was also approved in the Congress of Deputies and as shown by the electoral results that we have been able to know thanks to the Venezuelan opposition, is the elected president since July 28 in Venezuela,” Nunez stressed.
