The president of the Generalitat Valenciana announces changes in the composition of his executive to end the political crisis triggered by his management of DANA. In the third hour of his appearance before the Valencian courts, Carlos Mazón exposed the first changes within the Consell he chairs, without specifying when they will be carried out or who they will affect.

The Valencian president announced this Friday a “new Consell for recovery” with “a dynamic, modern and efficient structure”. It will be a Council which will have “a new vice-presidency for economic and social recovery. This will be the heart of our strategy,” underlined Mazón, who specified that he would manage European funds and the “relaunch of employment”. This department will coordinate all existing ones.

Mazón also announced that “there will be a new Department of Emergencies and Interior”, exclusively dedicated to the security of citizens, coordinating “prevention” action in the event of a threat. Currently, Minister Salomé Pradas is responsible for the Interior, Emergencies and Justice. The president didn’t mention it in his entire speech. She is the most notable person responsible for its management. The Valencian president also assures that “he will work with all administrations” and defends that “it is necessary to build a culture of emergency”, although he has eliminated the organizations in this regard.

On the guest bench you will be able to see the former president of the Generalitat Alberto Fabra and the former councilor and current senator Gerardo Camps during the appearance. Camps is one of the names being talked about to enter the Consell on the proposal of the national leadership of the PP. Mazón wants a crisis and a restructuring of the government to put an end to the criticism.
