The PSOE demands that Feijóo fire Mazón and offers to support a replacement with technical capabilities

Diana Morant, general secretary of the Valencian Socialists, reacted to the intervention of Carlos Mazón before Les Corts Valencianes to explain the management of DANA, a tragedy which has so far caused 216 deaths and 16 missing, demanding from the leader of the People’s Party, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, who dismiss the president of the Generalitat. In addition, they assured that they were ready to support a replacement “with technical capabilities and management experience” to resolve the crisis facing the province.

“Valencians need to feel protected. That the people who find themselves in front of the institutions do not have a higher priority than their well-being. We need rigor and trust. We need a Council to respond to the wishes of thousands of Valencians who have lost everything. Everything cannot continue as if nothing had happened. “We are proposing a solution to an unprecedented crisis with the hope of moving forward as we always have,” he said.

Furthermore, the “socialist” said that once normality returns to Valencia autonomous elections are called. Of course, Morant emphasized that “we are aware that we need to remove mud from schools, not remove ballot boxes.”

On the other hand, he described Mazón’s remarks as an act of cowardice in an attempt to justify the disastrous management of DANA before and after: “We thought that today Mazón was going to present his resignation, to assume his irresponsibility. We met with a flight ahead. It’s a popular cry, it must disappear. The question is how.”

“The Valencian Community is facing an unprecedented crisis of mistrust. The Valencian people need a president who does not lie to them. We have seen it in recent hours, mayors frightened by a new storm and not knowing what to do with schools and roads,” he concluded.
