Public Union IDEA (International Dialogue for Environmental Protection) and organization “Clean Air Fund” (CAF) in collaboration with the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP29) of the United Nations Framework Convention on the Climate Change in the Azerbaijan pavilion “Clean Air for Children and Newborns” A round table was organized on the topic “Importance for the health of babies”.

Oku.Az reports that the vice president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, founder and head of the IDEA Public Union, who spoke at the opening of the event Leyla Aliyeva highlighted the contribution that the discussions that will take place can make to the well-being of children.

Leyla Aliyeva highlighted that millions of people lose their lives every year as a result of the problem of air pollution and noted that global solidarity and the use of sustainable technologies play an important role in eliminating this problem.

Leyla Aliyeva then informed the participants of the event about the measures taken by the Republic of Azerbaijan, including measures taken to expand the use of sustainable public transport vehicles, hybrid and electric cars.

Leyla Aliyeva, speaking about various projects and events implemented by the IDEA Public Union, noted that on the initiative of the organization more than 5 million trees have been planted over the past 13 years. At the same time, the participants in the round table were informed that within the framework of the “School Gardens” project, more than 20,000 trees were planted in the courtyards of 300 schools located in the city of Baku and its regions.

It should be noted that the Minister of Health of Azerbaijan, Teymur Musayev, the Executive Director of CAF, Jane Burston, Head of the Global Program Healthy Environment for Healthy Children of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), Abheet Solomon, Vice President of Participated the Botnar Foundation, the member of the board of directors of the organization “Partnership for Maternal, Newborn & Child Health”, Flavia Bustreo and the young environmental activist Francisco Vera.
