It seemed like a very complicated match for Carlos Alcarazand it was so. The Murcian did not arrive in the better conditions for having been ill during his stay in Turin but even in this state, he was able compete.

Carlitos forced Alexander Zverev to bring out his best version, especially in the first set where only the ‘tie-break’ was able to decide on a round which was very close. Apart from an exchange of breaks during the first games, the rest of the set was a firm step for the two tennis players when they managed their serve.

The German took advantage after be more clinical in the tiebreaker. In the second round, “Sasha” advanced, breaking the serve of Alcaraz and from there it was enough for him repeat the formula of the first set to close the match.

Carlos He tried everything except the firmness of Zverev with the service, he ended up condemning a duel that would have been much more if Carlitos had been 100% physically. With this defeat, the Murcian says goodbye to Masters Cup in the group stage.

Alexander He dedicated some kind words to him after the match which underlined how difficult he is to beat Alcaraz: “I have won too many times in important matches so I’m glad I won this one. I feel like we have a really good rivalry and great friendship too. It’s nice to play against him except when he beats me. “He’s a great guy and I hope we see each other again soon.”
