A man arrested for stealing 95,000 euros from a bungalow where he was a few days earlier as a locksmith in Alicante

The National Police determined that the detainee, a 52-year-old man of Russian nationality, is in a situation irregular in Spain and who has a criminal record for other facts. The procedure was transmitted to the city’s investigating court, the prefecture said in a press release. Officers say much of the theft was committed from a safe, which he was able to wrench from the structure of the home.

A locksmith who knew the address

The incident was discovered when a neighbor of the victim alerted her that someone had entered her bungalow. When he returned, he found that several personal items and cash were missing.
