ERC activists will decide, in 15 days, who will be the next president of the party. Once the deadline for presenting endorsements has expired, there will be three candidates -if there are no new developments with the validation of signatures-: Oriol Junqueras (Militància Decidim), who tries to resume his functions; Xavier Godàs (Nova Esquerra Nacional), who has the support of Marta Rovira And Father Aragonès; And Helena Solà (Foc Nou), who argued that if she wins, she will not be a candidate for the Generalitat of Catalonia.
This Friday, a day after Militància Decidim officials did so, the promoters of Nova Esquerra Nacional and Foc Nou presented the necessary amendments to be retained. The first application gathered around 1,500 signatures, while the second, around 500. The threshold was a little over 400. On the 30th, the winner of the conference will be known. If a candidate obtains a vote of more than 50% of those speaking, he will automatically be elected president of the ERC. If no one reaches this 50% plus one, there will be second round. In this sense, Solà, who apparently starts with fewer options to reach the second round, denied having any agreement with one of the two most supported lists. But he does not rule out negotiating to reach an agreement after November 30.
