32 years later, the number of students who will study in Karabakh has been revealed

Today begins the new academic year in educational institutions.

But I wonder how many students will study in our liberated regions?

In this regard, as the Educational Portal AzEdu.az, we contacted the Karabakh Regional Education Department.

The administration reported that in the new academic year, Shusha town No. 1 with 960 places, Khankendi town No. 4 with 260 places, Khojaly town No. 1 with 132 places, and Sus village secondary school with 132 places in Lachin region will start operating in the new academic year.

Here is the number of students who will be studying in schools that have begun to operate in the liberated territories:

Comprehensive secondary school No. 1 in the city of Shusha: staff – 22 people, number of students – preschool (18 people), class I (13 people), II-XI (88 people);

Secondary school No. 1 of the city of Khojaly: staff – 16 people, number of students – preschool (5 people), class I (8 people), II-XI (21 people);

Comprehensive secondary school No. 4 in the city of Khankendi: staff – 28 people, number of students – preschool (29 people), class I (34 people), II-XI (234 people);

Sus village secondary school of Lachin district: staff – 14 people, number of students – preschool (1 person), class I (none), II-XI (17 people).

Shusha City Secondary School No. 1

The three-storey building with a capacity of 960 students consists of five blocks. There are 40 classrooms for 24 people each, 2 for physics, 2 for chemistry, 2 for biology, 2 for technology, 2 computer rooms, a STEAM centre, a library, a reading room, primary military training for young people, art and music rooms, a canteen, dance and gymnasiums, and there are work rooms for medical, examining and administrative staff. A football pitch and other necessary auxiliary buildings have been built in the area reserved for the school.

Currently, 92 students have been transferred and admitted to the school. 9 of them are in the 1st grade, 17 are in the school preparation group.

Khankendi Secondary School No. 4

The teaching process is planned to start on September 15, 2024 in the 624-seat school building, which is undergoing renovation in the city of Khankendi.

The school building, equipped with 11 classrooms, a laboratory, technology, IT, GCHQH offices, a 137-seat assembly hall, a gymnasium, a library and a canteen, has been repaired and prepared for use in the area reserved for the school.

Currently, 220 students have been transferred and admitted to the school. 9 of them are in the 1st grade, 5 are in the school preparation group.

Khojaly City Secondary School No. 1

Secondary school No. 1 in the city of Khojaly has a capacity of 132 students. The school has a STEAM center, a library, a reading room, elementary military training for young people, art and music classrooms, a canteen, dance and gymnasiums, and work rooms for medical, examining and administrative staff. A football field and other necessary auxiliary buildings have been built on the area reserved for the school.

Currently, 24 students have been transferred and admitted to the school. One of them will study in 1st grade.
