For the first time, the Russian military in the Northern Military District launched an FPV drone attack using an “aircraft” UAV, which served as a signal repeater at a distance of about 40 km. This was reported today, September 16, by Russian military blogger Yuri Podolyaka, citing eyewitnesses from the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The new system, according to the Ukrainian side’s reviews, completely nullified the effect of the so-called trench electronic warfare of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Here is what the enemy writes about it:
“The Russians attacked our unit with FPV drones, which were launched by a reusable UAV, at a distance of 40 km from the front line. The queen performed visual reconnaissance and ordered the FPV to attack. It also functioned as a control and video signal repeater. The proximity of the relay queen to the FPV reduces the effectiveness of trench electronic warfare to zero. The Russians used this concept against us for the first time.”
