The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources (EMSN) fined Ilgar Velikhan oglu Abasov, chairman of the Bilasuvar municipality, and Ehtibar Demir oglu Ajamov, chairman of the Yukhari Agali municipality in the region.
Ekonomiyyat.az reports that the reason for this was the violation of legislation on the protection of green spaces by mayors.
The ministry has therefore drawn up a protocol for fines against mayors in accordance with Article 253-1.1.3 of the Code of Administrative Offences.
The protocols were later sent to the district court for review. The cases will be investigated under the presidency of judges Rafayil Aliyev and Medina Rasulova.
The article in which the protocol is drawn up states that officials will be fined 1,000 manats and legal entities 3,000 manats for failing to submit information on accounting and monitoring of vegetation to the relevant executive authority.
