The neighbor Parish of Vigo de Valadareswhat was doused with gasoline and burned allegedly by her ex-partner last Saturday, remains hospitalized and stable in intensive care from the Povisa Hospital in Vigo.
The events occurred as the victim was leaving her home early in the morning and her ex-partner approached her and doused with gasoline before setting it on fire. The woman managed to put out the flames herself and her screams alerted her relatives; she was then transferred to the Povisa Burns Unitwhere she was admitted with burns over 35% of her body.
Meanwhile, the 41-year-old man and resident of Gondomar (Pontevedra) was arrested shortly after by police officers, whom he confronted and tried to attack with a beer bottle.
Due to these facts, the Instruction Court 1 of Vigo, acting as guardian, decreed the entry into provisional prison release and without bail of Borja RR, under investigation for an alleged crime of attempted murder. In court, the detainee asserted his right not to testify.
The service court agreed to recuse itself in favor of the Court of Violence against Women of Vigo, given that the investigator and the victim were in a romantic relationship.
