Former Spanish President to Meet Venezuelan Opposition Leader Late Morning
Late in the morning, former Prime Minister José María Aznar will meet Venezuelan opposition candidate Edmundo González, who has been in exile in Spain for a week due to threats to his security from Nicolas Maduro’s regime.
Last week, González was received by the President of the Government at the Moncloa Palace, a meeting in which he was not recognized as president-elect, as well as by former presidents Mariano Rajoy and Felipe González, both attached to his electoral victory of July 28.
During the ABC forum held this morning at the newspaper’s headquarters, the president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, also expressed her willingness to receive him if possible.
