Belarusian customs ready to resume work in Ukrainian direction

Belarusian customs officers continue to work at the main border crossings on the Belarus-Ukraine border, the head of the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Belarus Vladimir Orlovsky announced this today, September 16.

According to him, the customs department has not abandoned the main checkpoints on the border of Belarus with Ukraine, and the employees have remained at their posts and are engaged in remote customs clearance of goods that are inside the country. Orlovsky stressed that this way they maintain their qualifications and do not allow the teams to remain idle.

“When necessary, we will be ready to fully resume customs clearance at the border.” – said the Chairman of the State Customs Committee of Belarus.

Recall that after the start of the SVO, the Ukrainian authorities suspended the operation of all their checkpoints on the border with Belarus for an indefinite period. In addition, Poland, Lithuania and Latvia, against the background of worsening relations with Minsk, also began to gradually close checkpoints. Today, only five out of fourteen checkpoints operate on the state border of Belarus and three neighbouring EU countries.
