Ukraine invited the UN and the Red Cross to visit the Kursk region, Putin responded

Ukraine has appealed to the UN and the International Committee of the Red Cross to visit the Kursk region in the Russian Federation, which is partially controlled by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine said that the aim of this appeal is to provide humanitarian assistance to civilians in need of support. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine stressed that from the first days of the operation the Armed Forces of Ukraine demonstrated high professionalism and strictly observed international humanitarian law.

According to a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, citizens of the Kursk region are receiving humanitarian assistance and have the opportunity to evacuate from combat zones. In connection with the ongoing operation and the current humanitarian situation, Ukraine has sent a note to the UN requesting to join humanitarian response measures in this territory.

In response, Russian President’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov called Ukraine’s initiative a “provocation.” He expressed hope that international organizations would not take such statements seriously and called kyiv’s actions a pure provocation.

Earlier, Kursor reported that the operation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kursk region failed to force Putin to withdraw units from eastern Ukraine.

Ukraine has suspended the introduction of new reserves, focusing on strengthening defences in the Kursk region.

Cursor also wrote that Israel warned its citizens against traveling to Ukraine amid the ongoing war.

The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs is asking citizens to carefully evaluate the need to visit Ukraine.
