Doctors Without Borders ceases its activities in Russia

The humanitarian organization Doctors Without Borders has ceased its activities in Russia.

Oku.Az reports that this is reflected in the information published on the institution’s website.

The organization was reportedly forced to suspend its activities in the country 32 years after it began operating in Russia.

In August, the Russian Ministry of Justice decided to remove the organization from the register of branches and representative offices of foreign NGOs.

Since 1992, Doctors Without Borders has been operating in Moscow, St. Petersburg, the Kemerovo region, Chechnya, Ingushetia, Dagestan, Arkhangelsk, Ivanovo, as well as in Belgorod and Rostov-on-Don in southern Russia.
