The forest fire that broke out early this afternoon near the town of Brañuelas, in the Leonese municipality of Villagatón, has worsened in recent hours, which is why the danger level has been raised to 2 – on an increasing scale from 0 to 3 – because it represents a risk to people and property other than those of a forest nature.
More specifically, the population of Almagarinosin the municipality of Igüeña, and Trembling from belowin Torre del Bierzo, which has just over a hundred inhabitants, who do not leave the town and do not try to participate in extinction efforts to minimize the risks. However, the Commission says that residents can move freely in both places.
THE unfavorable development of fire due to wind caused the extinguishing operation to intensify over the hours, reaching the 35 air and land assetsincluding 10 aircraft including seaplanes and helicopters, seven environmental agents, two technicians, five ground teams, four bulldozers and seven brigades of forest fire-fighting specialists.
The fire affects woodlands, shrubs and pastures and for the moment, the causes that provoked it are unknown.
