The hostage-taking incident at a restaurant near Paris is gaining new details.
According to France Info, the suspect’s mother had previously told doctors that her son had drug addiction problems.
Recall that on the outskirts of Paris, Issy-les-Moulineaux, hostages were taken in one of the local restaurants. According to BFMTV, the alleged attacker is the owner of the establishment, who is arresting his employees.
The surroundings of the restaurant were cordoned off by the police and firefighters also attended the scene. Law enforcement is negotiating with the man to try to resolve the situation peacefully. So far the attacker has not made any demands and his motives are unknown.
According to Le Figaro, there are three or four hostages inside the restaurant. At the moment it has not been confirmed whether the man is in possession of a weapon, however his behavior raises serious concern.
The situation remains tense and police officers continue to work to resolve it and avoid tragic consequences. Residents in the area are urged to avoid the location until the operation is completed.
