Bandar Lapung – The fire broke out at one of the public stations for filling the fuel (SPBU), located on Dzhalan Antasari, on Thursday (5/5/2025), at about 07.30, the Skollan, Bandar Laponga, Lepung (5/5/2025) area.
The head of the fire and rescue service (Damkarmat) in the city of Bandara Lapang, Anthony Iravan, said that the fire source allegedly proceeded from an electric short circuit on the Dexlite fuel channel. Sparks from a short circuit then grabbed one of the fuel dispensers, which then burned down very much.
“A temporary suspicion arose from an electric short circuit on the pump. The fire immediately grabbed the dispenser and called the flame. Fortunately, I did not have time to spread further, ”Anthony told reporters.
According to Anthony, the fire department, which arrived a few minutes after the report was immediately received to shut off and cooling. The fire was successfully controlled before spreading to another area that was more risky. The area of the burned zone is only about one square meter. However, the damage caused is quite significant.
“One dispenser was burned. The calculated losses of the material reached approximately 25 million rupees, ”he said.
There were no deaths or injuries in this incident. However, the gas station was temporarily stopped to ensure security after a fire.
