‘It was another crazy day, but it ended much better’ than last time, says Donald Trump
While participating in a debate event on Platform X, Donald Trump returned on Monday evening to the alleged assassination attempt he targeted on Sunday.
The Republican presidential candidate says he was golfing with friends when “I heard shots in the air. I think probably four or five.”He explains that he and his friends got into a car and “They have progressed quite well.”
“I wish I had made that last putt”he added, explaining that he was unable to finish his game.
Then he says that an agent saw the barrel of a gun, “and started shooting in the bushes (…) then he ran towards the target”before reporting that a woman, who was in the area, took photos of the suspect’s license plate and sent them to authorities.
The former president also spoke about his conversation with his successor, Joe Biden, with whom he spoke earlier on Monday about this assassination attempt. “He was very kind, he called me to make sure I was okay”Trump said, adding that Biden also asked him for his opinion on whether “We needed more people on my team.”
“It was another crazy day, but it ended much better” last time, he added, referring to the alleged previous assassination attempt in July during a meeting in Pennsylvania, where one person was killed and two others were injured.
