Houthi attacks: Terrorists claim US offer

The US reportedly offered to recognise the Houthi government in Sanaa in order for it to stop attacks on shipping.

This was stated yesterday by a senior member of the Houthi group.

An American official commented on his remarks, saying that this was a lie.

The Houthi spokesman’s comments came a day after a ballistic missile fired from Yemen hit central Israel for the first time, prompting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to warn that the group would pay a “heavy price.”

A member of the Houthi political bureau, Mohammed al-Buhaiti, also told Al Jazeera Mubasher that after their attacks, calls were made from the US and the UK indirectly through intermediaries and that there were threats from these countries of direct US military intervention against countries that attack Israel and its allies “in support of Gaza”.

He added that “after every operation we carry out, we always communicate.” “These calls are based on threats or incitements, but they have refused to move in that direction,” he said.

A U.S. official, speaking on condition of anonymity, called the comments “a complete fabrication.”

At the same time, a US State Department spokesman said: “Houthi propaganda is rarely truthful or newsworthy. Coverage of this [в СМИ] creates the appearance of credibility for their disinformation.”

The Houthis have fired more than 220 ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and drones at Israel over the past 11 months, mostly targeting the southernmost city of Eilat, saying they are doing so in solidarity with Gazans amid Israel’s war against the Hamas terror group.

The vast majority of the rebel group’s projectiles were intercepted or did not reach their target.

Earlier, Cursor wrote that Sinwar conveyed a message to the Houthis, the media revealed the content.
