Innovation in Azerbaijan: You will NOT need to carry three important documents

“The updated Mygov digital government platform has simplified the process of submitting documents related to important life events such as marriage, parenthood and the death of a close relative. Digital submission of documents required for marriage, online registration of newborns and registration of death of a family member are now available on the platform and are possible through.”

Oku.Az reports that these views were expressed by the Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Digital Innovation and Development Agency (IRIA) at the presentation ceremony of the updated digital government platform “Mygov”. Rashad Khalikov saying.

He said that more than 40 pieces of data were placed in the “My information” section of the “Mygov” application:

“In addition, documents such as identity cards, marriage, birth and death certificates are submitted in digital format. Citizens can share these digital documents and information in the form of a QR code or PDF. In the mobile application “Mygov”, it is possible to find out the history of shared information and when, it is possible to see with which institution and company it is shared.

At the same time, the management of citizens’ permission to personal data requested by institutions is ensured. In the updated version, through the improved search system, notification module and application function, citizens can connect to government services more quickly and transparently. At the same time, services such as the list of electric charging points, the modification of subscription codes to public services, the pension calculator and the admission of citizens to local executive authorities have been activated on the platform.

Vice Chairman of the IRIA Board Shahin Aliyev and spoke about the reasons that require the creation of a digital identity card:

“In different parts of Azerbaijan, taking a copy of a citizen’s ID and storing it creates serious risks in terms of personal data protection. The idea of a digital ID arose precisely for these reasons.

Citizens can now digitally submit their ID via Mygov and later familiarize themselves with the submission history. This allows them to better control personal data. In the future, it will be possible to transfer risks related to the lack of protection of personal data via this platform.

Today, we are already seriously working in the private sector and with government agencies on the implementation of the digital ID card. By the end of the year, we will be able to fully implement it with our joint participation in more than three thousand points within the framework of our partner parties. It will also be possible to apply them in other areas. Citizens should also actively participate in this process. In places where physical ID cards are required, they should demand acceptance of digital ID cards.
