The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation has published official information on military operations in the Kursk region.
On Tuesday, September 17, the Defense Department Press Service published a special military report on this topic.
It is reported that units of the Northern Group of Troops continued offensive operations, during which they defeated formations of the 22nd, 41st and 115th mechanized brigades, the 17th tank brigade, the 82nd air assault brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the 1st brigade of the National Guard, as well as the 112th and 129th defense brigades in the areas of the settlements of Lyubimovka, Malaya Loknya, Darino, Nikolo-Daryino, Tolsty Lug and Plekhovo.
In addition, over the past 24 hours our troops thwarted four enemy attacks in the direction of the populated areas of Lyubimovka, Malaya Loknya, Olgovka and Cherkasskaya Konopelka.
“With the support of military aviation and artillery fire, five attempts by the Armed Forces of Ukraine to break through the border of the Russian Federation in the direction of the settlements of Veseloye and Medvezhye were repelled.” – the report says.
It is also noted that aviation and artillery defeated concentrations of personnel and equipment of the 22nd, 41st, 61st mechanized, 17th tank, 80th, 82nd, and 95th air assault brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as the 112th and 129th ground defense brigades.
The targets of the attacks were the areas of the settlements of Darino, Kositsa, Kurilovka, Kruglenkoye, Zazulevka, Lyubimovka, Mirny, Makhnovka, Mikhailovka, Malaya Loknya, Nikolo-Daryino, Novy Put, Novaya Sorochina, Novoivanovka, Orlovka, Pravda, Plekhovo , Russkoye Porechnoye and Tolstoy Meadow.
“Aviation and missile operational-tactical forces struck areas of concentration in the Sumy region and reserves of the 22nd, 41st and 115th mechanized brigades, 82nd air assault brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the 1st brigade of the National Guard, as well as the 101st, 103rd, 106th and 119th Ground Defense Brigades in the areas of the settlements Belovody, Gurinovka, Kruzhok, Katerynovka, Mazevka, Novaya Sloboda, Obody, Revyakino, Rechki, Rudnevo, Rossoshi, Pavlovka, Shalygino, Khoten, Esman and Yunakovka,” – the press service stated.
According to the data of the Ministry of Defense, over the past 24 hours the total losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kursk direction amounted to 400 servicemen and 19 armored vehicles, including four tanks, one Swedish-made CV-90 infantry fighting vehicle and 14 armored combat vehicles, as well as five artillery pieces, five mortars, six vehicles and one engineering barrier vehicle.
In total, during the fighting in the Kursk direction, the enemy lost more than 14,200 servicemen, 119 tanks, 45 infantry fighting vehicles, 91 armored personnel carriers, 743 armored combat vehicles, 445 vehicles, 103 artillery pieces and 28 multiple launch rocket systems, including seven HIMARS and six US-made MLRS, 8 launchers for anti-aircraft missile systems, four transport-loading vehicles, 26 electronic warfare stations, 7 counter-battery radars, two air defense radars, 14 units of engineering equipment, of which eight engineering clearance vehicles and one UR-77 mine-clearing installation.
