Residents of the Bosnian Autonomous Serbian Republic (RS) are invited to the elections on November 23 to choose the successor of his influential President Milorad Doddik, who was dismissed because this did not correspond to the decisions of the international envoys of the international messenger.
Despite the objections of both the Serbs and the local parliament, the election committee appointed the November elections in order to raise a political impasse after the dismissal of Dodik, but refuses to leave his position.
This political crisis is one of the worst in Bosnia after the wars of the former Yugoslavia and the Serbian leader is widely considered one of the greatest threats to the world in the Balkans since 1995, when Deuton’s agreements were signed.
The elections will be a new test for the central state to use its power throughout the country. Dodik has already stated that the elections will not be resolved in the territory of the Serbian Republic.
The 66-year-old Milorad DODK was fired in early August after he was sentenced to one year in prison, and his political rights-six years for the fact that they did not fulfill the decisions of the high international representative of Bosnia-Herzegova, Christian Smith. The political leader of Serbovosnia was elected President of the RS in October 2022 for four years. In his proposal, the local parliament approved the referendum on October 25, the question of whether Citizens Smith support and agree with the verdict against him.
The parliament has already ruled that Smith does not have jurisdiction to interpret Dyton’s peace agreement, and also rejected the decision against the Doddik. He opposes the early presidential elections and banned the election campaign in this area.
On Sunday, Dodik left to open the possibility of a referendum on the independence of the Serbian Republic, a threat that has often suffered over the past 20 years.
From their autonomist policy, the United States has imposed sanctions on him in 2017.
