Mushfiq Aliyev, a participant in the action to demand the departure from Azerbaijan of Frank Peloni, head of the Public Union for Care of the Families of Martyrs, spoke these words in “Report”.
He said that they do not want to see Frank Peloni, financed by the Armenian lobby, in Azerbaijan.
“We want Peloni to be rejected from Azerbaijan. Representatives of NGOs participating in this action share the same opinion. He came here at the suggestion of the UN. Peloni has always been involved in anti-Azerbaijani propaganda and has been active against the return from Karabakh to Azerbaijan Thousands of Azerbaijanis, as well as families of veterans and martyrs, want the pro-Armenian congressman to return to his country. It should be noted that today a group of Azerbaijani NGO leaders and social activists held another protest in front of the hotel where they were staying against pro-Armenian US Congressman Frank Peloni, who insulted the people of Azerbaijan.
The main demands of the NGOs were that Peloni apologize to the people of Azerbaijan, that he open criminal proceedings against his bodyguards who committed acts of violence against social activists during yesterday’s peaceful protest and that Peloni respond for the smear campaigns against Azerbaijan.
